Figs from our own trees are used to make this old school European recipe.
Unripened figs were gathered at the end of the season and boiled in a lemon and sugar syrup to enjoy in the winter.
These sweet fig and lemon "candies" are delicious to eat right out of the jar or cut them up to use in tarts, to decorate cakes, or to top ice cream or yogurt. Great addition to any cheese board. Zone 6 Tip - use on sharp cheeses.
